SUPPORT – DON’T DEPORT! As the party of freedom and American values, Democrats celebrate diversity as a strength for the nation. The $170 billion allotted to deport illegal immigrants should be used to enable efficient, streamlined, and fast-tracked naturalization and citizenship for immigrants living, working, and contributing in the United States. The borders should be protected while honoring the Statue of Liberty’s plea, “Give me your tired, your poor, and your huddled masses wanting to breathe free.”

Countries Offering Fastest Citizenship

There are countless reasons why an individual cannot pursue legal immigration pathways. Legal immigration is widely inaccessible, as options are extremely limited, prohibitively expensive, and often lengthy — taking years or even decades to complete — especially for those who don’t have family or employment connections in the U.S.  For those fleeing violence, persecution, or severe poverty, applying for and obtaining legal status before arriving in the U.S. is sometimes impossible.

  • Restore trust with historic alliances and make commitments to NATO
  • Take the masks off ICE or any police agents; have ICE follow the same safety protocols as law enforcement
  • Work with Congress on any military actions
  • Acknowledge and address historical missteps
  • Return to clean, renewable energy efforts and confront climate issues
  • Uphold the legal right to seek asylum and do not criminalize migration
  • Reinstate and expand Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Implement a more humane and effective immigration system – simplify and fast-track naturalization process
  • Approach the fight on illegal drugs from the aspect of demand

Trump CHAOS

It is important to give credit where credit is due. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the lowest nationwide encounters and apprehensions at the border in history shattering record lows set earlier this year under the Trump Administration. Overall, the combination of new infrastructure, reduced illegal crossings, and supportive statements from officials suggests that the border is indeed safer.

Deporting supposed illegal criminal immigrants while separating families, abolishing DEI, and mobilizing the National Guard and ICE against United State cities and citizens is another story. They are perceived as efforts by Trump to Make America Racist Again. Perhaps more debasing is that these actions were perpetrated and perpetuated by lies and deceit.

Trump and Kristi Noem assured that ICE was deporting the “worst of the worst.” Statistically that is a lie and the number of immigrants without criminal convictions is increasing as Stephen Miller demands more arrests. ICE is attacking worksites, churches, and courthouses and detaining people on the streets and in their homes while their children, friends and families watch. Even legal citizens and military veterans have been apprehended. Tragically, negligent ICE confrontation ended in death in Minneapolis, and before any investigation was conducted Trump and Noem branded the victim a domestic terrorist.

Rooted in historical movements and legal frameworks stemming from racial suffrage and aimed at promoting equality and justice, DEI addressed the needs of marginalized groups like women, people of color, and individuals with disabilities.  DEI initiatives impacted workplaces, educational institutions, and society by promoting fairness, innovation and overall performance. DEI closed opportunity gaps and brought broader benefits for all.

With the stroke of a pen, Donald J. Trump spit on and eradicated decades of suffering and progress. He then doubled down on his racist arrogance with fabrications and lies like blaming DEI for a military helicopter and American Airlines collision. How nauseating to hear Trump tout that he is “the least racist person known to mankind.”

And now, Trump has proliferated his propaganda of deceit to wage war on Venezuela. He and Pete Hegseth autocratically bombed Venezuela boats under the guise of fighting drug-trafficking without the knowledge or approval of Congress. If this was about drug trafficking, why would Trump pardon former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez who was serving a 45-year sentence “for cocaine importation and related weapons offenses” as one of the largest and most violent drug-trafficking criminals in the world helping to bring more than 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S?

We, of course, know that Venezuela is another one of Trump’s lies and attempts to distract from the Epstein files and all his other chaos. Even half of his own supporters do not believe him. Then, in the same week, Trump spoke of attacks on Mexico, Iran, Syria, and Cuba while promising to abscond Greenland with military force if necessary and shatter NATO.
