Wayne Stands for

For decades, Democrats have been the party of education. That is true today as Trump has disbanded the Department of Education without any plan or strategy. As a high school teacher for 20 years, I know what teachers and students need and that the ultimate purpose for education is to prepare students for college or vocational training. Funding for public schools must increase while promoting school choice, charter, private, and online programs.

  • Expand tutoring and ensure reading for all
  • Empower states, parents, and communities
  • Deemphasize standard testing – use as means to improved learning
  • Study and reciprocate successful global education like Finland 
  • Stop the fascist, criminal, and immoral efforts of Donald J. Trump and MAGA; representatives only have two years to implement their solutions

Trump CHAOS

Education is another issue Trump doesn’t care about. He appointed Linda McMahon to be Secretary of Education though she has no experience or expertise in education administration. Her sole job was to upend and dismantle the Department of Education which she did. About 2,000 federal education employees were fired or forced to retire. He did all of this under the conflicting and self-serving premise that states should now resume all accountability for education. 

Trump also reneged on billions of dollars in funding to universities and research while halting and overhauling student loan access, repayment and forgiveness. He abolished all DEI practices and policies endangering education opportunities for minorities, disabled, and underserved populations. 

All of this from a man who founded and operated the FRAUDULENT Trump University. Trump crookedly misled students about the value of its programs without accreditation, and was subject to multiple lawsuits alleging fraud as students were swindled out of millions of dollars. Trump ultimately settled the suits for $25 million. His own BA in economics degree from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is questionable as he habitually LIED about his GPA and being the top of his class. 

On a personal level, Trump brags about passing a cognitive test that no one else can pass. He boasts of his “stable genius” IQ and makes racist and misogynist claims that others are “low IQ” people while belittling and demeaning them. In reality, Trump took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment to evaluate cognitive function and detect mild cognitive 
impairment. The fact that doctors see the need for him to be tested and that his staff often has to “dumb down” national security reports because “he literally can’t read” is concerning.
