For decades, Democrats have been the party of education. That is truer today as Trump disbanded the Department of Education through the allegiance of Linda McMahon, a WWE magnate with NO experience in education. As a high school teacher for 20 years, I know what teachers and students need and that the ultimate purpose for education is to prepare students for college or vocational training. Funding for public schools must increase while also nourishing school choice, charter, private, and online programs.

•  Emphasize that the main purpose for education is to prepare students for college or vocational training​ 
• Promote and utilize online and dual credit classes and programs
• Maintain and increase public school funding while promoting charter and private curriculum – choice is good but doesn’t guarantee success
• Increase teacher salaries and streamline administration 
• Implement multiple and student-specific teaching methods
• Restore the Department of Education with comprehensive state input
• Expand tutoring and ensure reading for all
• Empower states, parents, and communities
• Deemphasize standard testing – use as means to improved learning
• Study and reciprocate successful global education like Finland 
• Stop the fascist, criminal, and immoral efforts of Donald J. Trump
